Performers line up for Independent & Art Market 4.0

10 more days before we kick start the most anticipated youth event in the Southern Atmosphere. Iskandar Malaysia will once again become center attraction for the youth in Johor. The venue will be at Johor International Youth HUB , Hutan Bandar MBJB.

Save your date this 31st March 2018 from 10am to 10pm. Bring your friends and family as there will be a lot of activities held. (FREE ADMISSION)  Aside from Street Workout, Skate Board, Parkour and BMX. Independent & Art Market 4.0 will feature our own home grown local talent to perform and entertain you guys.

Keyin the first female Freestyle Saxophonist staying and performing in JB and around Malaysia. Keyin started playing the saxophone back in 2001 when she was in the SIGS (Sultan Ibrahim Girls School) Marching Band. It was hard for her because music was totally new to her back then. As she progressed in her practice, she slowly evolved to be a freestyle saxophonist. And today, all her hard work has paid off, which is proved by being crowned as the Female Champion of "Show Off Talent Search 2015" season 3.

Mirul, the front-man of Citizen 21 from Pontian, Johor. Former owner of Red Ink Studio and just recently open up Rumah Kayu. A jamming studio focus on music development in his area. Mirul had been involve with Independent & Art Market since the 1st edition (with citizen 21) and kept on supporting this event. Catch him live performing acoustic live.

Ahmad Pintu, a lot can be said about this mystery man but no one can confirm it. Some may argue that he sounds like Ramli Sarip and some may say he sound more like Irwan Falls but I can assure you that Ahmad Pintu sounds like himself. This musician from Gelang Patah has his own album "Kita Serumpun". Buy it if you had the change.

Izzat Hassan, a gem that has yet to be discovered by the mainstream music industry. He had joined the previous edition of Independent & Art Market 3 in Laman Seni Kluang last year and continue on to work with Orbit Bunyi in hosting JB Singer Song-writer night. You can check out his latest song "Salahku" by Izzat Hassan in youtube and judge his talent for yourself.

The Coffeemates are a six-piece group from Johor Bahru that, in their own words, are “taking Nusantara sound to [the] otherside of modern fusion music”. The sextet takes traditional instruments such as the gambus and transplants them into modernity, influenced by contemporary trends in world music and fusion.

CRAZY GRIZZLY is a 5 pieces band based in Pasir Gudang, Johor, MY.

Formed in late 2012, the band defines its music as a slam of progressive, power pop, punk rock and alternative noise. Their first single from 2014's EP, "A.A!" made its debut on one of major radio station; Suria.fm and successfully ranked first for three weeks in a row.
Catch them performing acoustic live at Independent & Art Market 4.0

Dickies Tale front man Syahmi will be performing acoustic for  this event. He has been a supporter for Independent & Art Market since the 1st edition at Embrace Hall Johor Bahru. He's also the front man for UpToSixteen that plays their own music. A mix of Punk Rock and Reggae.

Puisi Vs Poetry

Poetry was introduced during the second edition of Independent & Art Market. Since then there has been a lot of events that featured Poetry as part of their event content. Kunang Kunang IV last year was the first event De'Press Art was invited to co-organize and manage poetry content for the event. Then there was Poetry Palooza, Poetic Vibes with Johor Society of Performing Arts and recently during Edible Festival in Medini. Poetry has a special place with the crowd in Johor Bahru and will continue to flourish as there are many local talent emerging requesting a stage to express their feelings.

Puisi Vs Poetry - Edible Festival 2018

De'Press Art had been invited by  Deric from LabDNA on behalf of Medini Iskandar Malaysia to provide a content for Mouthful and Handful during Edible Festival 2018.

We've come up with #PuisiVsPoetry a combination of Malay and English poetry reading session and bring 7 of our poets to join in the first ever Edible Festival in Medini.

Special thanks to Deric & Medini Iskandar Malaysia for having us to be part of this festival.
We are very honored by the invitation.

We would also like to thank the community of Medini that came to support this event and came to our poetry reading session. Hope that we can have more of this in the future.
