Poetic Vibes 2018 was held on 1st September 2018 at Sedap Corner, Jalan Abdul Samad. This event is part of the on going Johor Arts Festival from 1st to 23rd September 2018. De'Press Art was given the opportunity by Johor Society for the Performing Arts (Festival Organizer) to conduct this program for the second year.

This year's Poetic Vibes brings a different twist then last year's event. We bring in book tour, story telling and acoustic music from local Johor talent and from other states as well. Thru this event we hope to create an educational culture in a fun way that relates to people's talent and interest.
The event is started with a brief zine class by our founder Farel Omar as an introduction of what is zine and the type of zines. He also showed how to make a zine in few simple steps.
There are many definition of what is a "Zine" because there are many types of zine that has yet to be explore. But our definition of a zine is an isolated creative artwork published in a small scale and being distributed among certain circle of a community.
Then after, we launch our latest litreature zine by Arina Leow title #Singularity

Story Telling is an additional content brought to this year's Poetic Vibes upon seeing it's success during Cerita Akustika Puisi last May in Educity Commons. As expected, story telling manage to capture the audience attention with various type of stories and genre. Many of the crowd was laughing and even crying to the stories being told by our talented story teller.

Story Telling is a concept that should be adapted by all publisher when introducing their latest published book. They should invite the writer during the book launch and read a chapter or two from their book so that it would create interest among the potential readers. Hearing a story being told by the writer is a different sensation and helps to promote the book / zine much better.
